My name is Nate Donnis. I am a full time musician with over 10 years of professional experience in the music industry and 8 years teaching guitar in Carlsbad, San Marcos,and Encinitas areas . I have extensive experience in songwriting and playing various styles of guitar based music. My resume includes playing many professional venues in San Diego including: The Belly Up, The Hilton Hotel, Rancho Valencia Hotel, Pala Casino and many others. My music from my band The Donnis Trio has been played over 35 million times on Pandora Radio and 3 million plays on Spotify, and has been placed in various t.v shows and commercials throughout the world including Skins, 90210, VRBO, and others.
Teaching Style
I am always focused on the goals/vision of my students. Clarifying the goals at the initial lesson, we reverse engineer your vision to foundational exercises, theory, chords, rhythms, proper technique, posture, or scales, that are required for your vision to come into fruition. I expect my students to practice at least three 20min sessions per week in order to progress each week. We meet for 45 minutes on a weekly basis.
Kiddos
I've got two amazing kids 10 and 12, so flexibility with scheduling is important to me as well.
